About the Breed

Murrah is India's most prominent dairy buffalo breed. Known for its docile temperament, high fertility, strong body, and exceptional milk productivity. Widely used for genetic improvement in buffalo populations across Asia.

Milk Production

8–16 liters/day on average. High-yielding individuals canproduce up to 20 liters/day. Milk fat ranges from 6.5% to 8%.
